We are living through a very unprecedented time. Mid-March, many of us salon owners decided to close our doors before we were mandated to. And with news of how the COVID19 is spreading, it confirms that it has been the right choice. The reality is we are not sure when it will be safe to open our doors, so we are unable to give even the best guestimate.
As an industry, we are all worried about our future, and as small business owners, we worry not only for the future of our spa but also for the health and well being of our staff, clients and families. Our industry is based on relationships, and as estheticians and stylists, we will greatly miss our conversations and spending time with you all.
I know many of you were just about due for your next appointment, but before you consider going out and buying products from the supermarket and supporting big industries, maybe hold off until we re-open so you can support your local business and service providers who care so much about you.
Besides, we’re all supposed to stay away from social gatherings anyway. We can get a giggle at our hair and nail regrowth – a literal timeline for how long we’ve been isolated. And even as your service providers, we’ll all be in the same boat when we get up and running.
Many clients have asked what they can do to help us out. Some have offered to buy gift certificates for when we re-open. If that is what you’d like to do, reach out and we can discuss how to make that possible. We may also consider delivery for all of you who are running low on products (within a reasonable distance). Again, reach out to us if that is something that may interest you.
